2.5-Day Offshore Spearfishing & Sport Fishing Expedition

The expedition begins at 5:00 AM with departure from Marina La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. We travel roughly 30 miles offshore to reach our first offshore pinnacles.

The morning starts with either sport fishing or spearfishing. We drift over the pinnacles and work the pelagic species holding in the surrounding bluewater.

After that first session we push farther out toward the drop-offs, searching for productive water around 50 to 60 miles from shore.

As the sun drops we finish with a final rod-and-reel session on the open ocean. Back onboard, the grill comes on and dinner is made from the day's catch before we settle in for the night.

Day two starts around 6:00 AM with breakfast while the lines are already in the water, so there is a chance at fish on the way out to the drop-offs and tuna grounds.

Once we reach the productive areas it is time to get in the water. Depending on conditions the morning may be spearfishing along the drop-offs, bluewater diving, or working pelagics with rod and reel.

We keep at it until around midday, then take a break onboard to eat, hydrate and recover. In the afternoon we go back in around reef structure or out in open bluewater, adapting to visibility, current and fish activity.

We finish at sunset and return onboard for another Catch & Cook — fresh fish on the grill, stories from the day, and rest before the final morning.

The last day opens with breakfast and one more morning session on the water, taking advantage of the best conditions available for a final push.

At approximately 2:00 PM we leave the offshore grounds and run back toward La Cruz.

After arriving, the expedition comes full circle. The catch is filleted, portioned, vacuum-sealed and prepared for transport, so you take the experience — and the fish — home with you.
