About this experience
Every winter, Banderas Bay becomes one of the Pacific's extraordinary gathering grounds as humpback whales migrate from Alaska to breed, give birth and socialize in the warm protected water off Punta de Mita.
This is a private open-ocean safari led by an expert captain and naturalist guide. After locating the whales, guests spend approximately two hours in their presence and may witness breaches, tail slaps and mothers with calves. A hydrophone lets guests hear whale song beneath the surface. Dolphin encounters are also common.
Every outing is unpredictable, unscripted and unrepeatable. We keep a respectful distance, let the animals set the terms of the encounter and never chase or crowd them, so sightings and behavior can never be promised.
