Inshore is the right first call for most groups. Travel time is short, the water is usually calmer, and there is enough variety close to shore that quiet stretches are rare. It also suits children and anyone unsure about a long day on a boat.
Offshore is a commitment. You leave the coast behind, the motion is bigger and the day is longer, but the species change entirely. If the goal is tuna or dorado rather than time on the water, this is the trip.
